is Polycarbonate lens really difficult to install with half rim eyeglass frame?

I purchased a pair of eyeglass with 1.60 polycarbonate lenses for my daughter, but we recieved eyeglass, and finding the downside rim is too crude. So, whether the polycarbonate lenses are very difficult to install with semi rim eyeglasses frames?
