Do I need to have a new eye test?

I have a 7 year old pair of eyeglasses that are working fine (correct prescription verified at an eye exam 1 year ago) but I want to get a newer style of glasses. I don't know my prescription but can the optometrist figure it out without another eye exam? Thanks:confused:.
