I have had a pair of straight, extendable eyeglasses with teardrop ends that I use, but I also have an antique pair of wrap-around the ear eye wear too. But don't use these anyway,now.

From my brief readings on this subject, eyeglasses was just as expensive for people back then to afford as it is today. So I reckon it is not a matter of if you had to wear eyeglasses all day or not, just if you could afford to do so.

However, online shopping would be an other good way for you to get a fair eyeglasses.
